Yogyakarta – East Java Tour in 6 Days (with Sukamade)

Moving from Bromo to Banyuwangi where you will spend the night before starting to climb to Mount Ijen. You will enjoy how the acidic lake of Ijen can be that gorgeous. It will make you lost in times. Your tour in Banyuwangi will not be perfect before visiting Sukamade. This is a beach where sea turtles lay eggs and show you how nature finds its way. You can name one of your favorite baby turtles and release the baby turtle to the sea.
ITINERARY
Day 1 Airport – Prambanan Temple
An air-conditioned vehicle driven by professional tour driver picks you up at Adisucipto International Airport of Yogyakarta (JOG). This itinerary is best taken for maximum midday arrival at Yogyakarta Airport.
The car directly transfers you to the first spot of this Yogyakarta city tour; Prambanan Temple. Built in the 10th century, this largest Hindu temple was dedicated to the Trimurti, the expression of God as the Creator, the Preserver, and the Destroyer.
Arriving at the hotel, you will take a break and spend leisure time in the hotel as well to stay overnight.
Day 2 Yogyakarta City Tour
The tour starts after having breakfast at the hotel. You are invited to experience Yogyakarta city tour and visit temples in Yogyakarta. First destination is the magnificent Borobudur Temple. As you climb the top of the temple, devote some more time to rest and marvel at beautiful mountain landscape and feel the gently blowing wind up there.
Considerably close to Borobudur, you will arrive at a modest memorable village Candirejo. Many interesting things you can learn from the people of Candirejo, ranging from local arts, local traditions, to household industries run by the community. The people in this village still keep the local wisdom very well, various traditional ceremonies you will probably encounter during the tour. You can enjoy the lush green fields, tropical rainforests and its fresh air typical of the countryside by riding delman (horse chart).
Next stop is the famous palace of Yogyakarta which is known as Keraton. This ancient palace reflecting the Javanese cosmos orders you to explore the palace on foot.
Next destination is located less than 1 km west of the Keraton, i.e. Taman Sari or known as Taman Sari Water Castle. It was built by Sultan Hamengkubuwono I as a rest house and pleasure park for the Royal Family.
The day ends in the afternoon when the car transfers you back to your hotel.
Day 3 Yogyakarta – Surabaya – Bromo
After having breakfast in the hotel, the car directly transfers you to Yogyakarta railway station. Your train to Surabaya will depart at 6.45 a.m (West Indonesian Times). This train is most convenient way to take for Bromo Ijen blue fire tour package.
Upon arrival at Gubeng railway station Surabaya (11.45 a.m), you will be picked up with another car to continue the tour to Bromo. After 4 hours driving, it will finally arrive at Ngadisari Village, a small village near Bromo to spend the night in the hotel.
Day 4 Mt. Penanjakan – Banyuwangi
To start, you will be picked up by a 4WD from your hotel to go up to Penanjakan to catch up the sunrise from the crater of Mount Bromo. You will never regret 1.5 kilometer that you walk to the highest viewpoint since you will soon experience the great moment of watching gorgeous sunrise.
We will give you as much times as you need to get pleasure in the beauty of Mount Bromo. The wonderful Bromo and its fabulous spots are waiting to be explored. We will catch sunrise, explore sand sea, and of course enjoying the scenery in its famous savanna.
The jeep drives you back to your hotel for breakfast, shower and packing. Transfer to Banyuwangi and rest in the hotel.
Day 5 Ijen Tour – Sukamade
The tour starts at around 3 a.m (depend on the condition of Mount Ijen). It takes 1 hour driving to reach Paltuding and heads to Mount Ijen slope. About 1.5 hours slope walking leads you to reach the peak of Ijen Crater. Ijen Crater shows a special type of volcanic feature, about 1 kilometer in diameter and 175 meters deep. So does the former slope walking, going down through the slope of Mount Ijen is required to get back.
You will be transfered to Sukamade by jeep. The trip to Sukamade will last for about 4 hours. Along the trip, you will be amazed by the typical lush green of Indonesian suburban view: the rice field, the hill, the slow rhythm of rural live. Upon Arriving at Sumakamade, you will take a rest for some times before starting a turtle adventure.
After dinner is a time to go to the beach to see turtle laying eggs (depend on the nature condition). You will love the way Sukamade shows you how nature will find its way. Sukamade is the home of sea turtles where they lay eggs along the beach of Sukamade.
Day 6 Sukamade – Drop off Ketapang Harbor Banyuwangi/Surabaya
In the morning right after breakfast, you will be invited again to get along with the turtle in the beach. This time you will involve in an activity of releasing the baby sea turtles to go to the sea to start their new life. This will be an amazing journey for you; the adventure lovers.
The jeep then will carry you for transfer to Banyuwangi. For drop off in Ketapang Harbor, the jeep will take you till the harbor. In case of drop off in Juanda Airport in Surabaya, you will go to Surabaya with the former vehicle that already in wait in Banyuwangi.
