ITINERARY
Day 1 Airport – Prambanan Temple
An air-conditioned vehicle driven by professional tour driver picks you up at Adisucipto International Airport of Yogyakarta (JOG). This itinerary is best taken for maximum midday arrival at Yogyakarta Airport.
The car directly transfers you to the first spot of this Yogyakarta city tour; Prambanan Temple. Built in the 10th century, this largest Hindu temple was dedicated to the Trimurti, the expression of God as the Creator, the Preserver, and the Destroyer.
Arriving at the hotel, you will take a break and spend leisure time in the hotel as well to stay overnight.
Day 2 Yogyakarta City Tour
The tour starts after having breakfast at the hotel. You are invited to experience Yogyakarta city tour and visit temples in Yogyakarta. First destination is the magnificent Borobudur Temple. As you climb the top of the temple, devote some more time to rest and marvel at beautiful mountain landscape and feel the gently blowing wind up there.
Considerably close to Borobudur, you will arrive at a modest memorable village Candirejo. Many interesting things you can learn from the people of Candirejo, ranging from local arts, local traditions, to household industries run by the community. The people in this village still keep the local wisdom very well, various traditional ceremonies you will probably encounter during the tour. You can enjoy the lush green fields, tropical rainforests and its fresh air typical of the countryside by riding delman (horse chart).
Next stop is the famous palace of Yogyakarta which is known as Keraton. This ancient palace reflecting the Javanese cosmos orders you to explore the palace on foot.
Next destination is located less than 1 km west of the Keraton, i.e. Taman Sari or known as Taman Sari Water Castle. It was built by Sultan Hamengkubuwono I as a rest house and pleasure park for the Royal Family.
The day ends in the afternoon when the car transfers you back to your hotel.
Day 3 Yogyakarta – Surabaya – Bromo
After having breakfast in the hotel, the car directly transfers you to Yogyakarta railway station. Your train to Surabaya will depart at 6.45 a.m (West Indonesian Times). This train is most convenient way to take for Bromo Ijen tour from Yogyakarta.
Upon arrival at Gubeng railway station Surabaya (11.45 a.m), you will be picked up with another car to continue the tour to Bromo. After 4 hours driving, it will finally arrive at Ngadisari Village, a small village near Bromo to spend the night in the hotel.
Day 4 Penanjakan – Kalibaru
Starts at early morning before dawn to catch the sunrise moment, Our Guide will lead you to trek Mt. Penanjakan where you can stand at the highest viewpoint and witness the spectacular sunrise. Standing at this peak of mount allows you to see the beautiful scenery of Mt. Bromo and Mt. Semeru all in one straight view.
Mountainside trekking takes 20 minutes on foot to reach Bromo Volcano, and make sure that you have good shoes and fitness. Our 4×4 jeep drives you back to your hotel for breakfast, shower and packing. Leave Bromo area and transfer to Kalibaru
Day 5 Kalibaru – Sukamade
After breakfast, you will be invited to join a mini plantation tour. You will be introduced to various kinds of tropical spice and herb such as pepper, cocoa, coffee, snake fruit, vanilla, and rubber. In some occasion, you will have a chance to see how palm sugar is made traditionally. By the end of the tour, there will be a coffee break to try some local snack such as fried banana etc.
Around 1.5 hours driving from Kalibaru, you will arrive at Muncar, the second biggest fish port in Indonesia. In this fishermen’s village, you will see an enormous number of fishing-boat painted in rainbow-like color.
Ketapang in Banyuwangi is the next stop for an overnight. It is 2 hours away from Muncar.
Day 6 Sukamade – Banyuwangi
The tour starts at around 3 a.m (depend on the condition of Mount Ijen). It takes 1 hour driving to reach Paltuding and heads to Mount Ijen slope. About 1.5 hours slope walking leads you to reach the peak of Ijen Crater.
Ijen Crater shows a special type of volcanic feature, about 1 kilometer in diameter and 175 meters deep. So does the former slope walking, going down through the slope of Mount Ijen is required to get back. The car then transfers and drops you off at Juanda Airport /Ketapang Harbor Banyuwangi.
